This is Alan Ritchson''s latest action movie. So here''s the ironic thing about this movie: These are supposed to be Army Rangers on their final test to become full Rangers. It makes sense that there''s a final test.
But these Ranger cadets are anything but Ranger material. All of them have some mental and/or physical issue. The alien component is interesting, yet you see no aliens, only one type of robot/ship machine. And, the movie spends most of the time on the training of the Rangers.
So while I enjoyed the action scenes, those scenes were a little diluted and, again, focused on the Rangers.
But the writing and directing leave something to be desired. And Alan is the obky star actor. All other actors are either quite old, like Dennis Quad, and have a very small part, or I''ve never heard of them at all.
Because the movie didn''t get into who these aliens were, where they came from, what they looked like, and glossed over the alien machines, I''d give it 6 out of 10 stars. I love Alan Ritchson in the Reacher\ series and other movies he''s done.
